How do Cooksongold address their carbon footprint?

At Cooksongold we understand the need to address our carbon footprint. In 2022 we worked with a leading University in this field, to create and establish our carbon footprint. We have generated our first carbon accounting report based on 2021 data (you can find this below).

From our initial research, it was clear from the outset that the biggest change we can make to reduce our carbon footprint and support our customers is to remove newly mined precious metals from our supply chain:

  • In 2022 we committed to offering our full range of manufactured gold and sterling silver bullion products are now made using 100% recycled gold or silver.

  • We now also offer 100% recycled gold and silver wedding ring blanks, signet rings, selected findings and silver finished and loose chains.

  • We will continue to work with our suppliers to offer more recycled precious metal goods within our range.

We have also carbon offset approximately 103.5 tonnes of CO2e and are planting 1,420 trees per month, by partnering with Ecologi, and are working towards a full climate positive workforce by 2025.

We acknowledge that we have a long way to go before we can be a carbon-neutral company, but we see our actions to be a step in that direction, with plans and investments in place to address as we move forward.
